Liverpool started the Premier League with a stumble this Saturday. The team was surprised by Fulham, away from home, and even sought a tie twice, but ended up 2-2.

With Andreas Pereira starting, the home team started the game frantically and controlled the actions. Mitrovic was the one who scored the team’s two goals. Newcomer Darwin Nuñez also shone in his first Premier League game. He came on in the second half, scored a great goal and assisted Salah, but failed to give the visitors the victory.

In their next commitment, Liverpool hosts Crystal Palace, in the second round of the competition. The game takes place on another Monday, August 15, at 4 pm (Brasilia time).

First time

The start of the game was not very busy. The teams were studying each other, but ended up producing little offensively. Fulham fitted the mark and imposed difficulties on Liverpool, who only managed to arrive on the left, with Luis Díaz. The Colombian even scored a goal in the 14th minute, but the goal was annulled by an offside at the origin of the bid.

In this way, the home team managed to escape in speed, and that was how they opened the scoring, in the 32nd minute. After a good plot, Kebano received on the right and released the center forward Mitrovic, who climbed on the back of Alexander-Arnold and sent it to the nets.

Jurgen Klopp’s team tried to be more aggressive, but ran into the opposing defense. The most dangerous was still Luis Díaz, who hit the post at 38 in a left-handed shot.

Second time

Right at the beginning of the final stage, midfielder Thiago felt his thigh and had to be replaced by Eliott. Klopp took advantage of the break to also put forward Darwin Nuñez on the field. The Uruguayan didn’t take long to scare the hosts and almost scored straight after his entry, but the goalkeeper made a good save. On the other side, Fulham had a good arrival with Kebano, who kicked the post in the 11th minute and almost extended the score.

At 18, in an identical move to the previous one, Salah advanced on the right and threw it to Darwin Nuñez, who again tried with a letter and, this time, swelled the nets. Liverpool then became dominant and created new scoring chances.

However, Fulham got ahead again in the 26th minute. Mitrovic went one-on-one with Van Dijk and got a penalty. The Serbian converted the charge and went for the hug.

But at 37, the Anfield team sought a draw again. This time, in a throw in the area, Nuñez fixed it for Salah, who just touched the goalkeeper’s exit. Henderson even blew up the crossbar in stoppage time, but Liverpool couldn’t take the advantage.
