The Argentine midfielder from ChelseaEnzo Fernández, will be out until the end of the season, after undergoing groin surgery this Thursday, the English club announced.
“Enzo Fernández has undergone successful surgery for a groin problem and will now begin a period of recovery, which will keep him out of Chelsea’s remaining games this season,” the London club confirmed in a statement.
Fernández has not played at 100% fitness in recent weeks due to a hernia and made little appearance in the 5-0 rout of Arsenal last Tuesday, in which he was substituted in the 67th minute.

After undergoing surgery, the 23-year-old will miss Chelsea’s last six games and is doubtful to defend Argentina in the Copa América, which will be played in the United States from June 20th to July 14th.
Fernández, who stood out in Argentina’s third world championship campaign in the Qatar Cup in 2022, arrived at Chelsea in January 2023 from Benfica for US$133 million (around R$686 million at the current price). Since then, he has played 28 Premier League matches, scoring three goals.
