With two from Foden, City beat Brighton and are one point behind leaders Arsenal in English

This Thursday, in the 29th round of the English Championship, Manchester City visited Brighton at Falmer Stadium and won 4-0. The goals were scored by Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden (2) and Julián Álvarez.

Despite being second in the standings with two points behind Arsenal, the team still has one game in hand. This way, it’s up to them to take the lead. Brighton remained in 11th, with the same 44 points.

Finally, City returns to the pitch next Sunday, against Nottingham Forest, in the 35th round of the English Championship. The ball rolls at 12:30 pm (Brasília time), at the City Ground. For Brighton, the team will also play again on Sunday. However, against Bournemouth, at 10 am, at the Vitality Stadium.

The goals

The first was scored by De Bruyne, at 17 in the first half. The number 17 took advantage of Walker’s good cross and, with little fish, sent it into the back of the net.

Just nine minutes later, Foden added the second. The athlete took the free kick he took and had a deflection, deceiving the goalkeeper.

At 34, the striker scored City’s third and his second of the game. Bernardo Silva stole the ball inside the attacking area and released it to Foden, who hit it low into the goalkeeper’s right corner.

Finally, in the 17th minute of the second half, Julián Álvarez received it from Walker after a beautiful move by the full-back and, now without a goalkeeper, pushed it into the back of the goal.
