Russian cosmonauts who returned to Earth from the ISS successfully landed on the territory of Kazakhstan. As follows from the broadcast of Roskosmos, the landing of the descent vehicle took place in an area located 148 km southeast of the city of Zhezkazgan.
After the astronauts are evacuated from the descent vehicle, the doctors will conduct their initial examination on the spot, determine the level of oxygen in the blood, blood pressure and provide first aid.
Oleg Artemiev, Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov arrived at the ISS on March 18, the crew flight duration was 195 days. The crew commander, cosmonaut Artemiev, made five spacewalks during the expedition, Matveev – four.
The day before, the press service of the Central Military District reported that about 200 rescue specialists and an aviation group consisting of 12 Mi-8 helicopters, as well as An-12 and An-26 aircraft, would monitor the landing of the Soyuz descent vehicle. More than 20 units of ground equipment will also be involved, including six modernized search and recovery vehicles PEM-1 and PEM-2 “Blue Bird”.
