Kimpembe is injured and will be absent from PSG for 6 weeks

French defender Presnel Kimpembe, from Paris Saint Germainreplaced by injury in the team’s 1-0 victory over Brest last Saturday, will be out for the next six weeks, the club announced on Tuesday.

“Victim of a muscle injury to his left thigh, Kimpembe will be out for six weeks. His situation will be reassessed in eight days,” PSG said in a statement.

The 27-year-old player, who has played 28 games for the France national team, must be in the group that will compete in the 2022 World Cup. ‘Blues’Didier Deschamps, will announce this Thursday the squad for the team’s last two games before the World Cup, against Austria and Denmark, for the UEFA Nations League.

In addition to Kimpembe, France has three other important absences for these upcoming duels: midfielders Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté, in addition to striker Karim Benzema.
