Togolese player Emmanuel Adebayor called the isolation of Russian football an injustice
Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor praised the isolation of Russian football. It is reported by Sport24.
The 38-year-old Togolese noted that the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA), which led to the isolation of clubs and teams from Russia, can be called unfair.
Adebayor advocated a dialogue between FIFA and the Russian Football Union to resolve the situation. “I think at some point you will be able to come to a good decision that will free Russia from the ban,” the player expressed hope.
In the same interview, Adebayor shared a story about former teammate Andrei Arshavin. The Togolese striker remembered the story of how the Russian watched porn during the break of the match.
According to FIFA’s decision, Russian clubs and teams cannot take part in international competitions. The Russian national team, therefore, lost the opportunity to get to the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
