To Michael’s family would like to share with your close friends and his admirers who passed away peacefully,” according to a note published on the group’s website.
“His last days were filled with music, surrounded by the love of his family. Michael lived his life with childlike wondertraveling a deeply introspective path that fused the mind and the heart,” the statement adds. The website specifies that Pinder, the only member of the original band who was still alive, defended a fundamental principle throughout his musical career: “Keep “Hand above the clouds, but keep your feet on the ground.”
Singer, composer and keyboardist and participant in the group’s iconic song “Nights in White Satin”, he was one of the first exponents of the Mellotron, an electronic instrument that would mark progressive rock, explain specialized media.
