General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov commented on the poisoning of Sochi players before the match in Grozny. He stated that he had not received any documents regarding the transfer of the match to another date. Championat.com writes about this.

“Sochi” says: “Our players are not feeling well.” Then, apparently, they got better. Or we found those who feel fine. Maybe they played through force. We don’t have any documents,” said the RFU Secretary General.

According to him, the match may be postponed in case of force majeure. Mass poisoning will be considered as such, but only if medical documents are provided, Mitrofanov noted.

Earlier, the head coach of Sochi, Spaniard Robert Moreno, announced the poisoning of 14 team players before the match with Akhmat. He called the league’s refusal to reschedule the game a disgrace.

The 21st round meeting between Akhmat and Sochi in Grozny ended in a victory for the hosts with a score of 1:0. This match was important from the point of view of the fight for survival in the RPL. After the victory, Akhmat left the relegation zone, gaining 26 points. Sochi remained in last place, the southerners had 19 points.
