Evgenia Medvedeva apologized for her words about the death of Kamila Valieva’s grandfather
Two-time world figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva in her Telegram channel denied information about the death of Kamila Valieva’s grandfather and apologized to the skater and her family.
According to the Russian woman, she confused Valieva’s relatives. “I remember that Camila lost her grandparent. But it was grandma. And a few years ago. The grandfather who was discussed during the shooting is alive and well,” Medvedeva noted.
The figure skater noted that the first thing she did was contact Valieva personally. “Your mistakes, reservations, everything must be admitted. I’m wrong,” she said.
Medvedeva spoke about the passing of Valieva’s grandfather on April 26 in an interview with Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin on the YouTube channel “Katok”. According to her, this happened immediately after the Beijing Olympics in 2021.
