Midagri: this Thursday 28% fewer products entered the Lima Wholesale Market

However, he highlighted that an improvement was observed in the entry of cargo trucks to the wholesale markets of Lima. For example, this morning 650 trucks arrived at the GMML (22% less compared to last Thursday) and 135 vehicles (25% less) at the fruit market.

Regarding the supply of chicken in the collection centers of Lima, the entity indicated that it flows normally. Today the price of poultry meat was sold between S/ 6.52 and S/ 6.42 per kilogram.

The main product offers were red head onion from S/ 0.78 to S/ 0.75 cents per kilogram; Creole carrot from S/ 0.87 to S/ 0.77 cents per kilogram; purple sweet potato from S/ 1.28 to S/ 1.26 per kilogram; Yungay (white) potato from S/ 2.03 to S/ 1.96 per kilogram; potato cancan (color) from S/ 2.05 to S/ 2.03 per kilogram, among others.

Recovery in food stocks

On the other hand, Midagri reported that today there was a recovery of food stocks in the wholesale markets of Metropolitan Lima, facilitating a varied offer of products to consumers, despite the strike of a sector of cargo carriers.

The entity indicated that in the GMML and the La Victoria Fruit Market No. 2, the stocks of the main staple foods have improved and are at 81%, which has made it possible to meet the demand of merchants and housewives. house that go to said supply centers.

For example, in the GMML product stocks are at 84% of their storage capacity, a higher amount compared to yesterday (69%). “The stocks of carrots (from 20% to 60%), broad beans (from 20% to 70%), lemon (from 30% to 60%), and peas (from 30% to 80%) should be highlighted. Meanwhile, products such as garlic, sweet potato, onion, potato and tomato have a 100% stock,” said Midagri.

For its part, the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria indicated that there is an improvement in supply compared to yesterday and today the product stocks were at 78%. The fruits that experienced an increase in stocks are orange (from 70% to 80%), pineapple (from 60% to 80%), banana (50% to 70%) and avocado (70% to 80%), among others.
