Roman Kostomarov, 2006 Olympic champion in ice dancing, explained the presentation of summonses to Russian national figure skaters Dmitry Aliev and Makar Ignatov. His words are quoted by RT.

“The problem is that there is a little mess going on in the military registration and enlistment offices. That is the only reason such cases occur, ”said the athlete. He drew attention to the fact that he had not seen cases when active athletes received subpoenas, since they served only in sports companies.

On September 28, Aliyev and Ignatov received summons to the military enlistment office. The champion of Russia and Europe in 2020 Aliyev is 23 years old, the silver medalist of the national championship Ignatov is 22. The Russian Figure Skating Federation has requested a delay for the athletes.
