The International Football Federation (FIFA) has thought about postponing the start date of the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar in the fall. It is reported by Marca with reference to the Argentinean Diario Olé.

FIFA is seriously discussing a change in the schedule, namely, a possible shift in the start of the tournament by a day – from November 21 to November 20. Thus, in the event of a postponement, the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador will take place on Sunday, November 20.

Such a decision should be made solely on the basis of voting results. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the heads of football confederations take part in the procedure.
