Napoli announced on Wednesday morning the signing of left-back Leonardo Spinazzola from Roma. The 31-year-old had his greatest moment in football in 2021, when he was one of the highlights of Italy’s European Championship title.

Last season, the defender alternated between starting and being a reserve during his 36 games. The player also missed some matches due to muscle injuries. Despite this, he still contributed with one goal and four assists.
Spinazzola arrived in Rome in 2019 after transferring from Juventus. At his last club, he played 151 games, scored seven goals and provided 21 assists. He also won the Conference League in 2022.
The left-back was one of the big names in Italy’s victorious campaign at Euro 2021. However, he suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury during the tournament and was unable to play in the semi-final and final of the competition.
Due to the injury he suffered in June 2021, the athlete was out of action for almost a year and only returned to action in May 2022. Thus, he spent almost an entire season without playing, having played only four games for Roma. The following year, he managed to recover from the serious injury and returned to playing regularly.
