Williams brothers score and Athletic Bilbao thrash Almeria for the Spanish championship

The seventh round of Spanish Championship started this Friday, with the duel between Athletic Bilbao and Almeria. At the San Mamés Stadium, in Bilbao, the hosts were victorious 4-0. The goals of the match were scored by Inak Williams, Oihan Sancet, Nico Williams and Mikel Vesga, from a penalty.

With the result, the victors took the third place in the championship, with 16 points. Until the end of the round, however, they can lose a position. Athletic Bilbao will only return to the field next week, next Saturday, at 1:30 pm (Brasília time), to face the Sevillanot Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Almería lost for the fourth time in a row. With that, he is in 17th place with four points. The team can finish the round in the relegation zone. In the next round, the losers face Rayo Vallecano, also on Saturday, at 9 am, at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos.

Athletic Bilbao opened the scoring early in the match. With 10 minutes of ball rolling, Nico Williams crossed to the area and found his brother, striker Inak Williams, who deflected his head into the back of the net. At 16, the hosts scored once again. Full-back Óscar De Marcos passed to Oihan Sancet at the edge of the area. The midfielder dominated and hit between the goalkeeper’s legs.

In the second half, Athletic Bilbao also started with everything and, right away, had a goal disallowed. A short time later, in the 16th minute, it was Inak Williams’ turn to return the favor to his brother. The striker played for Nico Williams who, after fighting with the defender, managed to increase the score. At 41, the hosts had a penalty to beat. The midfielder Mikel Vesga took responsibility, converted the charge and closed the count, 4 to 0.
