“Half a year in captivity”: in the Urals, a man kept a woman and a child locked up – the Ministry of Emergency Situations had to rescue her

In Magnitogorsk, a whole operation was carried out to free a woman and child, whom a man had kept locked up for six months. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city, information about the “bad” apartment first appeared on social networks.

Neighbors and local residents wrote in groups on VKontakte that the man was behaving “strangely.” According to them, he allegedly writes on the doors of the entrances with a marker and smears the walls of the elevator with feces. Photos and video materials were attached to the posts, where his face was visible.

A local police officer was then dispatched to the address to identify the man. A woman answered him through the door and said that she was locked in the apartment. A tower was brought to the house, and the policeman made his way into the house through the balcony, notes KP – Chelyabinsk, citing eyewitnesses. The operative found out that a woman and a young child lived in the apartment with the man, “in a socially dangerous situation and in need of help.”

The woman was taken to the hospital, and when she returned home, her husband beat her, the publication writes. As a result, as the Course of Business notes, the Ministry of Emergency Situations had to rescue the mother and child from the apartment. PDN workers and an ambulance also arrived there. The woman and child needed medical help. After this, the man was taken to the police station.

As local media write, the criminal beat the captive, left her without contact and did not let her out of the apartment; the child did not see the street for six months. However, the neighbors never reported it to the police. It was suggested that the woman had nowhere to live, so she endured and did not try to get out, the media notes.

This fact is being investigated.
