Selected in the NHL draft, the Russian spoke about unusual questions from league clubs

Selected in the NHL draft Simashev said that he was asked if he was in prison

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl defender Dmitry Simashev spoke about interviews with the National Hockey League (NHL) clubs before the 2023 draft. It is reported by “Match TV”.

According to the player, he spoke with 20 teams. The Russian called all the questions the same, but noted that there were three unusual ones. ““Have you been in prison?”, “If you were an animal, what kind?”, “Which would you choose: pasta or potatoes?”, – said the Russian.

Simashev noted that he spoke English. “Maybe they didn’t want to burden me too much. And if there was an interpreter nearby, they might not have asked that, ”added the defender.

Simashev was selected in the first round of the draft sixth overall by the Arizona Coyotes. He received the highest number among all Russian defenders in the 21st century.
