American manufacturer Zook Cabins has launched the Aspen Park modular home, a 3.7 metre wide log cabin designed to accommodate up to four occupants.
The new residential model trades road mobility for expanded living space, offering 37 square metres of interior floor space across a structure measuring 12.5 metres in length.
Constructed in a traditional exposed log cabin format, the exterior includes entrance steps leading to a front porch fitted with protective railings and space for seating or a hanging porch chair. A dark metal roof covers the residence, which is engineered to settle into quiet natural landscapes away from urban noise.
Standard transportable prefabricated homes built for road transit typically adhere to a strict width of 2.5 metres between side walls. By extending the Aspen Park chassis to 3.7 metres, Zook Cabins added over a metre of lateral room, significantly expanding the layout possibilities for interior furnishings and walk-through corridors.
While the 37 square metre interior is smaller than alternative modular units such as the 52 square metre Soma model produced by Removed Tiny Homes, the manufacturer designed the single-story floor plan to maximize open space so the cabin feels comparable in breadth at first sight.
Open Concept Living Area and Kitchen Layout
Residents enter the Aspen Park directly through the front porch glass door into an open concept living room that connects directly with the cooking area. Natural light fills the living room through double windows installed on both opposing side walls as well as the glazed front entryway.
The living area accommodates a double sofa, a central coffee table, and a wall-mounted or freestanding television. Temperature control throughout the seasons is provided by a mini-split air conditioning unit, a ductless heating and cooling system that operates via an external compressor and an internal air handler to maintain targeted indoor climates without requiring complex ductwork.
Situated adjacent to the living room, the L-shaped kitchen is equipped for both short-term recreational stays and permanent year-round habitation. A side hallway extending past the kitchen provides access to the private quarters, including the main bathroom, the primary bedroom, and the upper staircase. The bathroom contains a flush toilet, a washbasin equipped with a large vanity mirror, and a standalone shower enclosure that utilizes the added cabin width to provide a larger bathing space than standard compact shower trays.
At the rear of the ground floor, the primary bedroom benefits from the extended 12.5 metre length of the cabin, offering enhanced acoustic and visual privacy compared to smaller tiny home designs. The room provides space for an extra large double bed, clothing storage, comfortable walking room around the bed, and installations for a television and a ceiling fan.
Located between the bathroom and the master bedroom, a built-in staircase leads to the upper level of the home. Zook Cabins offers buyers the option to customize this secondary space according to their household requirements.
