The game
Before the ten minutes of the first half, Benfica had a chance to open the scoring. Gonçalo Ramos received a good ball in the area and ended up sending it over Vizela’s goal. Afterwards, the Portuguese had another opportunity, but the defense made the cut before the bid was completed.
Vizela also built a good move. At 26 minutes, Kiko Bondoso was left with the ball and finished strong in the corner of Odysseas, who made the save. Afterwards, Grimaldo had space, but the shot went smoothly for Buntic to defend. Until at 38, João Mário made it 1 to 0. The Portuguese took advantage of David Neres’s pass and rocked the net.
At 20 minutes of the second half, Samu crossed in the area and found Osmajic in front of the goal and the number 9 hit the crossbar. On the rebound, Kiko Bondoso tried again and Odysseas closed the angle and made good defense to avoid the tie.
Vizela got one less, at 42 minutes. Anderson Jesus received the second yellow card in the game and ended up expelled. In added time, João Mário extended for Benfica, in penalty kick.
