The inhabitants of Córdoba Avenue in the Vinces canton, in the Los Ríos province, said they felt scared after the murder of the citizen Pedro Pablo Montiel Montalván, who was having sex with some friends in a restaurant in the area.
The 44-year-old victim worked as a driver for Alfonso Montalván, mayor of the city.
This crime that occurred on Saturday night has caused consternation among the inhabitants of this canton of La Rioja.
According to the version of witnesses, a subject approached his victim to attack her with several shots that immediately ended his life. He then fled on a motorcycle in the company of another individual.
Subsequently, military personnel who were prowling in the vicinity went to the scene of the events to maintain order of the people and prevent the crime scene from being altered. Criminalistics personnel also arrived at the site to carry out the respective tests. Later, agents of the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) carry out the removal of the corpse. The violent act is still under investigation for now.
The mayor of Vinces expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and expressed his feeling of sadness for the departure of the person who accompanied him daily in his personal and work activities while he was a public servant of the GAD.
