French actress Juliette Binoche will receive the goya International at the 37th edition of these Spanish Film Academy Awards, which will be held in Seville on February 11.
The Academy thus recognizes “his extraordinary career and his commitment to risky authors, embodied in a good number of unforgettable performances”, as they have expressed in a statement released through their social networks.
European cinema reference and with a career spanning four decades, Binoche has been recognized at the Oscars, the Césars, and the Baftas, as well as winning performance awards at the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice festivals, and the Donostia Award of the San Sebastian Festival.
This will be the second year this award is given, created with the aim of “recognizing personalities who contribute to cinema as an art that unites cultures and viewers from all over the world”. Before Binoche, the American actress Cate Blanchett already managed to win this award.
Trained at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, this French actress has worked in films such as ‘Bad blood’, ‘Wuthering heights’ or ‘The English patient’.
