Ansu Fati says he doesn’t feel pressure to use Barcelona’s 10, immortalized by Messi

Ansu Fati had his contract renewed with the Barcelona made official on Wednesday. The 18-year-old signed a bond until 2027 with the Catalan club, with a fine of one billion euros (R$6.4 billion). At a press conference this Thursday, the player, who now wears the number 10, said he does not feel pressure to wear the number immortalized by Lionel Messi.

“I was very happy when the captains offered me the chance to wear the number 10. I was willing to do that, but I don’t feel any additional pressure. I know it’s going to be impossible to achieve what Messi has achieved, but I’m ready to give my best,” he stated.

Ansu Fati also talks about the derby against Real Madrid, which will be played next Sunday, at 11:15 am (GMT). The young man highlighted the importance of the fan.

“We are ready for the game against Real Madrid. And also to fight for every trophy. The fans are our biggest motivation, so having a packed Camp Nou is another fuel,” he said.
