A man in the Russian city of Mirny was shot multiple times by his neighbor and three of the neighbor's friends in front of his children, following a dispute over loud music, according to an account from the victim's wife reported by the Telegram channel Mash na volne.

The wife said the family was spending time together in the yard of their home when the neighbor showed up at around 6 p.m. Moscow time. He broke down the gate, demanded they turn the music down and threatened to deal with all of them, she said, adding that he returned to make the same threats several more times.
She said three of the neighbor's friends then arrived, and together the group attacked her husband. One of them shot him roughly seven times at point-blank range, and the men then struck him in the head with a shovel, she said.
A second neighbor who came over after hearing the shouting was also attacked, suffering a broken jaw and a traumatic brain injury, according to her account.
The wife said all of this happened in front of their three children, and that her eldest son tried to shield his father with his own body during the attack.
Victim hospitalized after shooting
The injured man was hospitalized, where doctors removed the bullets from his body and carried out surgery, according to the report. The family has filed a police report over the attack.
