Carminho and Dino D'Santiago each landed two Latin Grammy nominations, including a fado duet with Rosalía, organisers announced.

Carminho, Dino D'Santiago Land Latin Grammy Nominations

Portuguese singers Carminho and Dino D'Santiago have been nominated for Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Portuguese Language Song category, organisers announced on Wednesday.

Carminho is nominated in that category for "Memória," a song inspired by traditional fado that she performs as a duet with Spanish singer Rosalía on Rosalía's album "Lux." The track is sung in Portuguese and Spanish.

Carminho, whose full name is Maria do Carmo de Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade, is one of Portugal's leading fado singers, a genre of melancholic Portuguese song traditionally accompanied by guitar. Rosalía, a Catalan artist, has built an international career blending flamenco with pop and urban sounds.

Carminho picked up a second Latin Grammy nomination for Best Portuguese-Language Roots Music Album, for her latest record, "Eu Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir," released at the end of 2025. Combined with the "Memória" nod, that gives her two nominations at this year's awards.

Dino D'Santiago's double nomination

Dino D'Santiago also received two nominations, for a collaborative project that brought him together with Brazilian artists Criolo and Amaro Freitas.

Their song "No Vento de Nós" is nominated for Best Portuguese Language Song, the same category as Carminho's "Memória." The trio's debut album under this Portuguese-Brazilian project, titled "Criolo, Amaro & Dino," is competing for the Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Popular Music Album/Afro-Portuguese-Brazilian Music.

Dino D'Santiago is a Portuguese singer known for fusing Cape Verdean rhythms with electronic and Afro-Portuguese sounds. Criolo is a Brazilian singer and rapper recognised for work spanning hip-hop, soul and Brazilian popular music, while Amaro Freitas is a Brazilian jazz pianist.

About the Latin Grammy Awards

The nominations were unveiled as part of the nominee announcement for the 27th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards. The Latin Grammys are presented annually by the Latin Recording Academy to honour recordings in Spanish and Portuguese across genres including pop, urban, roots and regional music.
