With Real Madrid, which he joined in 2006 after being relegated to Serie B, he won two Spanish championships and the King’s Cup. After ending his football career, he decided to work as a coach. He spent most of this time in China – he led Guangzhou Evergrande, Tianjin Tianhai and the Chinese team. Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia also ran for several months. And so far, it is difficult to say that the results of the teams he leads are knocking on their knees.

However, it is hard to suspect that Cannavaro really became the selector, due to his limited experience in working in the national teams. China has only led in two games as interim coach. In addition, the assumption that the PZPN will probably choose a Polish coach, who will not need time to get to know the players, speaks against the Italian. Already in March we are playing with Russia in the qualifying qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, and then in a possible final with the winner of the Sweden – Czech Republic match. So far, Adam Nawałka seems to be the favorite to replace. We will know the new selector after the meeting of the PZPN board on January 19.
