Michael Estrada arrived in Mexico City this Saturday morning to close his transfer with Cruz Azul. The sky-blue directive targeted the Ecuadorian to cover the departure of Santiago Giménez to Feyenoord, and upon his arrival in the capital of the Republic, Estrada assured that he did not think twice about accepting the offer of the Machine and he said he was very excited about this new stage in his career where for the second time he will play in Liga MX, since he previously played with Toluca.
Estrada, who arrives from DC United of the MLS, said he was happy for his signing with Cruz Azul and from the outset he knows of the demand in the La Noria team that with his arrival, he closes his squad for this tournament. “I come with many illusions for the opportunity that is being given to me. I hope to arrive and score a lot of goals, the center forward has to be like that. So excited for the opportunity that is being given to me and even more so for coming to a club like Cruz Azul” he said.
Likewise, the 26-year-old player stated that Cruz Azul is one of those teams to which you cannot say ‘no’ because of what it represents in Mexican soccer. “Cruz Azul is a great team. There is no way to say no to a team like Cruz Azul. I am very excited because it is a league that I know and Cruz Azul is a great team. I was very excited when I received the proposal from here, I didn’t think twice” he stated.
Likewise, Estrada stated that he hopes to perform from the first minute with Cruz Azul and maintain a good level for Qatar 2022 where his team, Ecuador, was placed in Group A.
