Eight property, commercial and personal property registrars have received the Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort in Spain for their professional service and contributions to the justice system.
Félix Bolaños, the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, presided over the official presentation ceremony.
The distinction recognized Dulce Calvo González-Vallinas, Teresa López Ruiz, José María Ramírez-Cárdenas Gil, Ernesto Calmarza Cuencas, Jorge de Fuentes Corripio, Fernando Restituto Ruiz, Miguel Seoane de la Parra, Raquel Sancho Díaz, and Jesús Camy Escobar. Other legal professionals from various branches of the justice system were also honoured during the event.
Minister praises public service and professional leadership
During his address, Bolaños described the honourees as illustrious, recognized, and prestigious figures whose professional careers contribute to improving public service and who set an example for their peers.
The minister highlighted that the recipients represent the best of each profession. He urged them to continue serving as role models and leading by example within their respective fields.
The ceremony brought together prominent figures from Spain's legal administration. Senior officials in attendance included Manuel Olmedo, the Secretary of State for Justice; Sofía Puente, the Secretary General for Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service; and Ester Pérez, the Director General of Legal Certainty and Public Faith.

Supervision of registry activities falls under the Ministry of Justice through the Directorate-General of Legal Certainty and Public Faith, ensuring consistent application of legal standards.
History of the Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort
The Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort is one of the highest civil honours awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Justice. Established in 1944, the award recognizes exceptional merit and service in the administration of justice, legal practice, and judicial science.
The decoration takes its name from Saint Raymond of Peñafort, a 13th-century Catalan Dominican friar and canon lawyer who compiled influential collections of canon law for Pope Gregory IX and is recognized as the patron saint of Spanish lawyers.
