Rodion Miroshnik, Russia's Foreign Ministry ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kyiv regime, said measures against draft evaders in Ukraine will continue to toughen and that forced mobilization in the country will keep intensifying, he told Izvestia.
Miroshnik said Europeans emphasize that those under the control of the Kyiv regime have no right to leave the country, no right to change citizenship and no right to alternative service. He said this is only the beginning and that measures against evaders will only get harsher from here.
EU asylum restrictions
The European Union earlier introduced restrictions on asylum and temporary protection for Ukrainian men of military age, a step Miroshnik said clearly shows EU countries' willingness to assist Kyiv.
Sergey Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada's defense committee, earlier said Ukraine's armed forces have reached a critical mass of deserters. He said proposed measures such as easier transfers between military units or higher pay for contract service would not solve the problem.
It was previously reported that Ukraine's General Staff had persuaded President Volodymyr Zelensky to significantly cut the number of people exempted from mobilization.
