Maria Gladkikh: Russian TV Host Defeats Melanoma Cancer

Russian television presenter and singer Maria Gladkikh has announced that she has defeated melanoma, a malignant form of skin cancer, following surgical treatment and clear post-operation tests.

Gladkikh shared the update in a video message published on her Instagram account, revealing that she had received the results of her second histology examination following oncological surgery.

According to the broadcaster, the histology results came back clean, indicating that there were no remaining signs of cancer in her body. She expressed immense happiness at the outcome, stating that the diagnosis had brought her to a profound realization that any problem in life can be resolved except for issues concerning health. She added that her battle with the disease had compelled her to re-evaluate many aspects of her life.

Melanoma is one of the most serious types of skin cancer, originating in the melanin-producing cells known as melanocytes. While less common than other skin cancers, it is considered particularly dangerous due to its potential to spread rapidly to other organs if not identified early. Histology refers to the microscopic analysis of biological tissues, which oncologists use after surgical excision to confirm whether tumor margins are clear of malignant cells.

Routine Examination and Tour to Shaolin

Gladkikh had previously revealed her cancer battle in August, informing her followers that the tumor was originally discovered during a routine medical examination.

Prior to obtaining her clear post-surgery test results, the television host had publicly addressed her oncologist on social media. She stated at the time that she planned to travel on a tour to Shaolin once she was fully cured of the oncological disease.

The Shaolin Monastery, located in the Songshan mountain range of Henan province in central China, is a renowned Zen Buddhist temple famous worldwide as the birthplace of Shaolin kung fu. Shaolin tours typically attract visitors seeking physical rehabilitation, meditation, and traditional martial arts training.

Gladkikh published her video update on Instagram, a social media platform owned by Meta Platforms, which has been officially recognized as an extremist organization and banned within the Russian Federation.
