Lyubertsy baby unharmed as thrown bottle shatters stroller

An infant narrowly escaped injury in the city of Lyubertsy after a glass bottle thrown from an upper window struck a baby stroller.

Footage published by the local news portal MSK1.RU captured the moment the glass container fell from a height outside an apartment building in the Tomilino Park residential complex. The video, recorded by an outdoor security camera, showed the flying bottle striking the handle of the carriage and shattering on impact. The force of the strike caused the stroller to shake violently and roll away across the pavement.

The child remained unharmed because the mother was holding the baby in her arms while conversing with an acquaintance nearby when the object hit the stroller. The mother decided not to file a report with local police following the event.

Prosecutor investigation

Despite the absence of a police report from the parent, the regional prosecutor's office initiated a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. State prosecutors in Russia hold statutory authority to launch legal checks into public safety hazards independently of victim complaints.

Local residents living in the Tomilino Park development stated that falling objects are a recurring issue at the property. According to neighbors, occupants regularly throw glass bottles and ashtrays out of upper-story windows into the outdoor walking area below.

Falling debris incidents in Russia

The incident in Moscow Oblast comes after similar hazards resulted in injuries to infants in other parts of Russia earlier in the year. In March, falling ice collapsed from a building roof onto a stroller in Sverdlovsk Oblast, located in the Ural region. A nine-month-old girl suffered injuries in that incident and was diagnosed by medical staff with bruises.

A similar incident took place in Tula Oblast, a region located south of Moscow. An infant survived being struck by falling ice but required medical assistance from doctors, leading law enforcement agencies to open a formal criminal case into the matter.
