Jack Tweed, the widower of Big Brother star Jade Goody, has been charged with drug-driving after allegedly testing more than three times over the legal limit for cannabis.
Tweed, 39, was arrested on Three Mile Hill in Chelmsford, Essex, on 6 December, according to Essex Police. He had been behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf when officers pulled him over.
A blood test reportedly showed he had 5.6 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood in his system, prosecutors have claimed. The substance is the active component of cannabis, a Class B drug.
Court records seen by The Sun on Sunday show Tweed faces one count of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He was charged in March, according to the report.
A hearing initially scheduled for May was adjourned. Tweed is now due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Monday.
If found guilty, he faces up to six months in prison and a mandatory one-year driving ban.
Tweed married Goody in February 2009. She died of cervical cancer at the age of 27 one month later.
