The magazine elDinero Mujer hosted the inaugural elDinero Mujer Talks on Thursday, July 30, launching a permanent forum on sustainability, leadership and corporate innovation.

The event, held at Corporativo Martí in Santo Domingo under the theme of sustainability that generates value, gathered female executives and industry leaders to discuss environmental and social practices in business.
Carlos José Martí, executive president of the Martí business group, opened the event. He emphasised the importance of strengthening female leadership in decision-making roles and urged companies to back initiatives with social and environmental impacts that contribute to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic.

Jairon Severino, director of the elDinero newspaper, said the talks were created as a permanent dialogue platform to approach sustainability from a practical business perspective. He said integrating environmental, social and governance criteria presented an opportunity to create value and strengthen corporate competitiveness.

Danielis Fermín, editor of elDinero Mujer, said the initiative reflected the magazine's commitment to producing content and spaces that drive conversations for the growth of female leaders and the Dominican business ecosystem.

Sustainability as a strategy
The event featured a panel on sustainability that generates value, bringing together Julissa Báez, executive director of the Dominican Association of Portland Cement Producers; Maureen Tejeda Metz, director of the Cap Cana Foundation; and Indira Isabel Lorenzo, sustainability director for Martí and the Tropigas Foundation.

The panel, moderated by CCK Dominican Republic country manager Gilsé Echavarría, agreed that sustainability had moved from a trend to a strategic part of business management, which could strengthen corporate reputation, drive innovation and create shared value for organisations and society.

Rosa Anacaona Pascual, director of Seiton Consultores, delivered a presentation on the difficult task of sustaining a business. She outlined the main challenges companies face to maintain growth in a changing economic environment, and highlighted the importance of making sustainability a long-term competitive advantage in corporate strategy.

Creative industries edition
The event also marked the launch of the 34th edition of elDinero Mujer magazine. The issue is dedicated to the creative industries, with interviews, reports and analysis on the economic impact of the sector and the role of sustainability as a driver for innovation and development.

The inaugural elDinero Mujer Talks was supported by Martí, Cap Cana, Ciudad Destino, the Dominican Association of Portland Cement Producers, Asociación Cibao de Ahorros y Préstamos, Sistema Coca-Cola-Bepensa, Laboratorios Alfa, Pernod Ricard Dominicana and Lilimolone.
The magazine said the initiative reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable business models and contributing to a more innovative, competitive and inclusive economy.
