Bad Bunny, Shakira and Karol G were the biggest winners at the 2026 Premios Juventud, an awards show that also gave the Dominican Republic a strong night through bachata, dembow and tropical music. The ceremony took place on the night of Thursday, September 3, at Starlite Marbella.
The show gathered 338 nominated artists across 50 categories, according to Diario Libre. Organizers said the results reflected a moment in Latin music in which major stars kept their dominance while new sounds, digital creators and cross-genre collaborations also found room to be celebrated.
Romeo Santos and Prince Royce sweep tropical categories
Romeo Santos and Prince Royce had an especially strong night, together winning three awards. Their joint production "Better Late Than Never" was named Best Tropical Album, while "Lokita por mi" won Tropical Mix. The pair also won Tropical Hit for "Dardos."
Bad Bunny wins Male Artist and Best Tour
Bad Bunny won Premios Juventud Male Artist, beating out Carin Leon, Maluma, Myke Towers, Rauw Alejandro and Romeo Santos. The Puerto Rican artist also won Best Tour for his "Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour" and was nominated in several other major categories.
Premios Juventud is an annual Spanish-language awards show that recognizes achievements in music, television and digital content, with winners chosen through public voting. The 2026 edition marked its debut in Europe, held at the Starlite Marbella venue.
Shakira takes Female Artist and two more awards
Shakira was named Premios Juventud Female Artist. The Colombian singer also won Best Pop Song alongside Alejandro Sanz for "Besame" and took the Collaboration OMG award with Nigerian artist Burna Boy for "Dai Dai," a win marked as having Dominican participation.
Karol G won Album of the Year for "Tropicoqueta."
