British television presenters Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have posted family photographs from a holiday in the South of France, three months after announcing they were divorcing following 23 years of marriage.
The pictures show the couple with their daughters, Phoebe and Amber. Daly captioned the images: "Last blast of South of France summer with the fam."
Daly is known for presenting BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, while Kay hosts a show on BBC Radio 2. Their decision to be pictured together suggests the pair have not let the split turn bitter.
Further evidence that divorce need not mean lasting misery came from former England footballer Gary Lineker, who has been married and divorced twice. Speaking on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, he said: "People say they're failures. I had two really successful marriages." He added that he remains "best mates" with his second wife, Danielle.
Research shows that up to half of couples who divorce regret the decision, the columnist wrote, urging couples who return from summer holidays short tempered to give their relationship another go, or, failing that, to try to make a separation work amicably, as Daly and Kay appear to have done.
Maya Jama's Gentlemen cameo

Nurses seek £400,000 in transgender case
A group of female nurses who won a legal battle against NHS bosses over sharing changing rooms with a transgender woman are now seeking to recover £400,000 in legal costs. The case follows a UK Supreme Court ruling in 2025 that the terms "sex," "man" and "woman" in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex rather than acquired gender.

Sky News correspondent Rowland Manthorpe tested one of the driverless robotaxis introduced in London this week and reported that the vehicle became confused and nearly struck a group of Just Stop Oil protesters in the road.
Cruise casts Hathaway in Days of Thunder sequel
Tom Cruise has cast Anne Hathaway in a sequel to his 1990 film Days of Thunder. His former co-star Randy Quaid said of Hathaway: "She's just not sexy." The columnist questioned whether Cruise, 64, had run out of original ideas, pointing to his eight Mission Impossible films, two Top Gun films with a third in production, two Jack Reacher films, and now the Days of Thunder follow up.
