The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, appointed Oscar Miguel Graham Yamahuchi as the new Minister of Economy and Finance. This as part of the renewal of the cabinet after the resignation of Mirtha Vásquez in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Oscar Graham will take over the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) to replace Pedro Francke, who was in charge for 7 months; that is, since July 2021 with the arrival of the Government of Castillo Terrones.
The new head of the MEF has a master’s degree in Economics with experience in designing and implementing policies for the development of financial markets, the pension system, the promotion of financial inclusion and productive development.
He has served as deputy minister of MYPE and Industry of the Ministry of Production (Produce) in 2019. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Social Health Insurance (EsSalud), director of the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SMV, director of the Fund of Deposit Insurance and president of the Multisectoral Commission for Financial Inclusion.
At the MEF, he was an advisor to the ministerial office, and recently held the position of General Director of Financial Markets and Private Pensions.
