Canadian singer Charlotte Cardin has cancelled her remaining summer performance dates in France after suffering a vocal cord injury that requires extended medical rest.
The 31-year-old artist announced the cancellations in a message posted to her Instagram story, explaining that her vocal injury had already forced her to cancel several shows and was not healing quickly enough to allow her to resume performing this summer.
Cardin said she was deeply sorry and saddened by the situation, but stated that on the recommendation of her doctors she must continue her vocal rest to give her vocal cords time to heal before returning to the stage. She told fans that it broke her heart to cancel once again and be unable to be with them, thanking her audience for their patience and understanding while expressing hope that she would see them very soon.
Cancelled European festival dates
The announcement impacts four upcoming festival dates across France. Cardin was scheduled to perform at the V and B Fest in Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne in northwestern France on 21 August, followed by the Cabaret Vert festival in Charleville-Mézières on 22 August. Her tour was also set to include appearances at the Rose Festival in Toulouse on 27 August and the Ici Live La Ciotat Festival in the Mediterranean coastal town of La Ciotat on 3 September.
The decision follows a series of earlier concert cancellations across Europe since the start of August. Cardin previously pulled out of the Festival de Ronquière in Belgium on 9 August, as well as the BitterSweet Festival in Poland and the major Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary, on 15 August, citing the same health condition.
Career and Victoires de la Musique success
Vocal cord injuries among professional singers frequently require complete vocal silence and physical rest to prevent long-term damage to the vocal folds, often disrupting tight summer touring schedules.
Born in Montreal, the largest city in Canada's French-speaking province of Quebec, the former model transitioned into a successful music career spanning pop, electro, and rhythm-and-blues. Earlier in 2026, Cardin was named female artist of the year at the Victoires de la Musique, France's premier annual music awards ceremony.
Her latest single, Take Me Back, was released in June 2026. Cardin has not specified when she expects to return to live performances following her medical recovery.
