Brazilian content creator Alana Alves da Silva was killed alongside six other people on August 8 during a head-on car collision in Brazil.
According to the Federal Highway Police of Brazil, reported by Brazilian news outlet G1 Globo, Alves was traveling in a car carrying approximately 137 kilograms of marijuana that fled from police officers after failing to obey a traffic stop.
After traveling for several kilometers, the driver attempted to overtake four vehicles by pulling into the opposing lane, which caused a direct head-on collision with a black GM Astra on the highway.

High-speed pursuit and crash
Authorities stated that 24-year-old Pedro Yan Linhares Gutiérrez was driving the vehicle carrying Alves at the time of the chase. Ramón Silverio Nogueira, aged 19, was also traveling as a passenger in the car.
Both Gutiérrez and Nogueira died at the scene of the accident. An unidentified 20-year-old woman who was also inside the car survived the collision and was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
Alves worked as a digital content creator, sharing video posts with followers on social media platforms including TikTok. In Brazil, federal highways are monitored by the Federal Highway Police, a national law enforcement body tasked with patrolling roadways, managing traffic safety, and preventing illegal transport on interstate routes.

Fatalities in oncoming vehicle
Four people traveling inside the black GM Astra struck by Gutiérrez were also declared dead at the scene.
Police identified the deceased occupants of the GM Astra as 79-year-old Argemiro Machado da Silva, 76-year-old Valmir Machado da Silva, 77-year-old Alcides Silva Santos, and 46-year-old Gilmar Bispo dos Santos.
The Chevrolet Astra, sold under the GM brand in South America, is a compact passenger vehicle widely driven across the region. In total, the head-on impact claimed seven lives and left one passenger hospitalized with grave injuries.
