Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia plans to deploy up to 50,000 North Korean military personnel on its territory, according to a report by Reuters.

Zelensky said a decision has been made to place between 30,000 and 50,000 troops from the DPRK in Russia. He said the North Korean forces are studying modern warfare experience that Pyongyang could use in potential future crises and conflicts in the Asia-Pacific region.

North Korean presence in Kursk Oblast

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un previously praised the participation of North Korean troops in the liberation of Kursk Oblast. According to Kim Jong Un, the DPRK emphasized its status on the global stage through those battles.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously stated that Russia will never forget the assistance provided by the DPRK in dangerous and complex demining work in Kursk Oblast.
