Russian comedian Yulia Akhmedova has revealed that she suffers from an eating disorder, speaking publicly about her mental health struggles during a broadcast interview. The stand-up performer disclosed her diagnosis in a video discussion with journalist Laura Dzhugelia, released on the online media platform VK Video.
Akhmedova said her condition was characterized by episodes of uncontrollable binge eating followed by attempts to purge what she had consumed. She explained that the bingeing reached such a severe degree that she searched online to find out whether a person could die from overeating.
During these episodes, Akhmedova admitted she would eat raw, dry pasta. She added that her struggle with the disorder was what led her to consult a psychologist for the first time in her life.

The mental health disclosure follows a previous personal incident recalled by Akhmedova, when she fell in her bathroom and suffered a head injury. She noted that the traumatic fall left her with a visible scar on her head.
