Social media users shared footage from the vote on September 18, claiming that power cables and computer connections were not visible on the back of his desk monitor. Observers also asserted that mouse and keyboard wires were arranged in an unusual manner. However, these claims were dismissed as speculation, as the equipment was working properly.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, stated that Vladimir Putin encountered no technical issues while casting his ballot. Peskov emphasized that everything was working for the president.
Photographs released from the voting session show the monitor screen illuminated and displaying an active Windows desktop. Technical specifications confirm that the display could not glow or show a desktop interface without a live power connection and an external video signal.
Technical design of the monitor
The monitor model placed on the president's desk was identified as a Dell U2410. This model includes a built-in power supply and features a dedicated cable management channel integrated into its central mounting stand.
Connecting wires are routed directly behind the central pillar and exit toward the rear base. Because of this design, cable plugs and sockets are naturally hidden from view when a camera takes photographs from a direct frontal angle.
