The Dallas Stars lost to the Edmonton Oilers in the first game of the Western Conference finals of the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting took place in Dallas and ended with the guests losing in the second overtime with a score of 2:3. The hosts’ Russian player Evgeny Dadonov scored an assist, but this did not help the team win.

Thus, the score in the series became 1:0 in favor of Edmonton. The second game will take place in Dallas on the night of May 26.

The East finals feature the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. In the first match of the series, Florida turned out to be stronger (3:0). The Russian team goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky scored a shutout.

The conference winners will play for the Stanley Cup. The current holders of the trophy are the Vegas Golden Knights.
