In a game marked by goodbyes, Fati scores two and Barcelona beats Mallorca in the Spanish

In a commitment valid for the penultimate round of the Spanish Championshipo Barcelona received Mallorca at the Camp Nou and won by 3-0. Ansu Fati (twice) and Gavi were responsible for the team’s triumph this Sunday.

The match marked the goodbyes of Sérgio Busquets and Jordi Alba with the culé fans, who paid homage to both. The two veterans have chosen not to renew their contracts and will leave the club at the end of the season. Neither the steering wheel nor the left side has defined destinations.

In addition to the athletes, the game also marked a brief farewell to Barça at the Camp Nou. The stadium will undergo renovations in June, forcing the team to play at the Olímpico Lluís Companys stadium in the 2023/24 season.

With the victory, Barcelona went to 88 points. The team will play in the last round against Celta de Vigo. Mallorca, who are in 12th place with 47 points, will face Rayo Vallecano next Sunday.

The game

In the first minute of the match, Barcelona were already ahead on the scoreboard. After a good exchange of passes, Gavi came face to face with goalkeeper Grief and rolled to Ansu Fati, who tapped into the open goal and scored the first of the home team.

At 13, Mallorca’s situation got even more complicated. Striker Amath Ndiaye was expelled after a strong tackle on Balde, who was injured and had to leave the field carried by doctors.

Barça’s advantage increased in the 24th minute, when Ansu Fati received it from Lewandowski inside the area and hit Grief on the way out, to score his second goal of the match.

In the final stage, Barcelona stopped the post twice. At two minutes, Koundé was almost after Alba’s cross. Already at 21, it was Lewandowski’s turn to hit the post with a free kick.

The third goal only came in the 25th minute. Dembelé received on the right and passed to Gavi, who risked left-handed and put the ball in the drawer of goalkeeper Grief.
