But Peruvian soccer historically had good quality players and now we are seeing that there are players with good physical intensity,” added Nunes in an interview with the newspaper ACE.

The Brazilian, who in addition to directing youth squads, has also been in command of squads considered great such as Corinthians and Grêmio from his country, considered that soccer in Peru, over time, will be in a “direct fight” with its counterparts from Ecuador, Colombia and Chile.

“I think that in the long term, Peruvian soccer is going to grow. It has the possibility of establishing itself there in a direct fight with Ecuadorian, Colombian and Chilean soccer for being one of the forces of South America ”, he specified.
