Samsung will host its Galaxy Event August 2026 on August 27 to present a new smartphone in the Galaxy S26 series, the company announced.
According to Samsung, the upcoming handset will feature key capabilities from the main Galaxy S26 lineup, including enhanced camera tools and artificial intelligence functions. The smartphone will also operate on a new version of the company's proprietary One UI user interface.
The technology company has not yet disclosed the official model name or complete technical specifications for the device. Samsung said it will announce full details regarding the new product during the live presentation.
The live broadcast of the event will begin on August 27 at 15:00 Kyiv time. Tech enthusiasts and prospective buyers will be able to watch the stream live on the official Samsung website and on the company's official YouTube channel.
Galaxy S26 series expansion
Samsung Electronics, headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, is one of the largest global manufacturers of mobile devices and consumer electronics. The flagship Galaxy S series represents the company's premier smartphone lineup, featuring high-end mobile processors, advanced multi-lens camera systems, and display innovations.
The new device will feature One UI, Samsung's custom software skin built on top of Google's Android operating system. First introduced to make large screens easier to operate with one hand, One UI incorporates system-level customization, split-screen multitasking, and artificial intelligence tools for photo editing and voice translation.
Foldable market developments
The announcement comes alongside broader developments across Samsung's mobile lineup in global markets. The company's Galaxy Fold 8 recently emerged as the most popular model in Samsung's new foldable smartphone range across European countries.
However, product teardowns conducted by the electronics repair organization iFixit recently identified a potential hardware vulnerability in the Galaxy Fold 8 design. Technicians discovered a structural weak point that could also create engineering challenges for future competing foldable devices, including a potential foldable iPhone from Apple.
Samsung is expected to confirm final regional pricing, release schedules, and hardware specifications for the latest Galaxy S26 addition when the event streams live on August 27.
