Russia has harvested 60 million tonnes of wheat from 14.8 million hectares as of August 10, 6 million tonnes more than on the same date in 2025, the Agriculture Ministry reported.
The ministry's press service said the wheat harvest, a key crop for the country, has passed the halfway point, adding that average yield has risen significantly to reach 41 centners per hectare.
Grain harvest overall
The total harvest of grain and legume crops in Russia has also grown, exceeding 72 million tonnes. The ministry said 18.6 million hectares of grain and legume crops have been threshed nationwide so far, with the Southern, Northwestern, Ural and Siberian federal districts outpacing their 2025 harvest rates.
Earlier delays
In mid-July, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said the harvest was still running behind schedule, explaining that rain had delayed planting and that the harvest was consequently late because sowing itself had been late. Slow harvest rates at the start of the season had also been linked to conditions in the fuel market, which later began to stabilize.
