Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko and his wife, music producer Yana Rudkovskaya, have purchased an elite house in a luxury real estate complex in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The acquisition of the overseas property was announced by singer and businessman Emin Agalarov in a post on his Instagram social media account. Agalarov stated that the couple bought a home in Sea Breeze, an exclusive residential complex featuring high-end houses along the Caspian shore.
Welcoming the couple to the development, Agalarov said that there are now more reasons to visit Azerbaijan more frequently. He added that he looks forward to hosting Plushenko and Rudkovskaya as his new neighbors in the resort complex.
During a conversation with Agalarov regarding the new home, Rudkovskaya shared her plans to plant fruit trees on the property's plot. Plushenko clarified that he would specifically like to see apple trees planted on the grounds of the estate.
Resort development and background
Sea Breeze is a luxury resort and residential development located near Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. Situated along the Caspian Sea coast, the complex includes private villas, apartment buildings, and leisure facilities. Agalarov, a popular Azerbaijani-Russian singer who performs under the stage name Emin, is also a prominent businessman and real estate developer involved in managing major commercial projects across the region.
Plushenko is one of the most successful figure skaters in international sports history, having won two Olympic gold medals and two Olympic silver medals for Russia. Rudkovskaya is a prominent Russian media figure, television presenter, and music producer best known for managing high-profile entertainment acts, including Eurovision winner Dima Bilan.
Son's sports citizenship transfer
The property purchase in Azerbaijan comes several months after a shift in national sports representation for the couple's family. On May 21, it was announced that their son, Alexander Plushenko, changed his sports citizenship and will represent the national team of Azerbaijan in figure skating competition.
The citizenship change for the younger athlete was notable given earlier public positions taken by his father. Evgeni Plushenko had previously spoken out on multiple occasions against Russian athletes switching their sports citizenship to compete for foreign nations.
