Russian state corporation Rostec has outlined the tactical deployment algorithm for the Malva self-propelled howitzer in a statement on Telegram.
According to the state defence company, the wheeled artillery system moves rapidly onto a position, strikes its target, and retreats before enemy forces can react.

Rostec stated that the BAZ-6910 wheeled chassis allows the vehicle to perform extended maneuvers across substantial distances without relying on heavy transport trailers or railway networks. The company identified this independent road mobility as a key operational advantage compared with tracked military vehicles.
Rostec is Russia's primary state-owned defence conglomerate, overseeing the design and production of military hardware across the country. Tracked combat vehicles offer heavy terrain capability but typically require specialized flatbed trailers or train transport for long distance repositioning, whereas wheeled platforms move directly on public road networks.
Simultaneous fire capabilities
The publication on Telegram also noted that the Malva supports a simultaneous fire strike mode. Under this operational algorithm, several shells are launched along different flight trajectories and at varying speeds so that they hit the target at the exact same moment.
Simultaneous firing, often known in artillery tactics as multiple round simultaneous impact, allows a single artillery piece to maximize target impact before counter-battery fire can be initiated. The 2S43 Malva is designed as a highly mobile 152mm artillery system mounted on an eight-wheel drive truck chassis.
Earlier coverage by military newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda also highlighted the operational flexibility of the system, noting that the wheeled chassis enables artillery crews to rapidly occupy firing positions to engage targets. Krasnaya Zvezda is the official daily newspaper published by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
In October, Russian newspaper Izvestia reported that BARS territorial defence units had been equipped with both Giatsint and Malva self-propelled artillery systems, citing sources familiar with the situation. The Giatsint is a long-range self-propelled gun system utilized alongside the newer Malva platforms.
The BARS organization, short for the Combat Army Reserve of the Country, functions as a territorial reserve force within the Russian military structure, providing security and defence capabilities in local operational zones.
