Russia's National Payment Card System (NSPK) has warned cardholders that Visa and Mastercard payments could face disruptions because of a switch to Russian security certificates.
NSPK said difficulties may arise when paying for purchases online with cards from international payment systems that left Russia in 2022.

Mir cards recommended
The company advised switching to Mir cards, saying they will keep working without changes for both online and offline purchases.
It was previously reported that Visa and Mastercard holders in Russia could see a gradual reduction in cashback and other bonuses from banks. That risk was tied to the steady phasing out of the two international payment systems' cards in Russia.
