Peruvian television presenter Paola Chiappina has published a farewell message to her missing boyfriend, influencer Alejandro Ugarte, following his disappearance on Mount Huascarán in Peru.
The 32-year-old television host indicated she has lost hope of finding Ugarte alive after more than a month of search efforts failed to locate him in the mountain region of Áncash.
Ugarte, a 38-year-old social media influencer known as Chicho, disappeared during an expedition on Mount Huascarán. Authorities and Chiappina mounted an intense weeks-long search campaign across the area, but the operation yielded no positive results.

Farewell message on Instagram
Chiappina, who presents the program El postre imposible on the Plus Life television channel, shared an extensive tribute to her partner on Instagram, where she is also known to followers as Dipaola. In the post, she reflected on the projects the couple had built together and the family they had formed.
The pastry chef and content creator wrote that Ugarte had brought more life into her life and completely transformed it upon his arrival. She added that he was now resting in the place he loved and that she would remember him whenever she looked toward Mount Huascarán.
Addressing the frustrating search efforts, Chiappina stated that she had never lost faith and never would, but said life had taken this path because the mountain would not release him. She wrote that no effort could overcome nature, even after doing everything impossible to find him.

Tribute to lost loved ones
In the final portion of her message, Chiappina referenced her father, who passed away in April 2026. She suggested that Ugarte had reunited with her father in heaven, describing them as kindred spirits with her father surfing waves while Ugarte climbed mountains, both enjoying a simple life.
Chiappina closed her tribute by expressing her love for Ugarte across all planes of existence, writing that he remained infinite in her heart and that they would meet again in the memories they created together over the years. The social media post was published alongside a collage of photographs showing the couple smiling together.
