Rebel Wilson Talks 'Girl Power Household' With Kids

Rebel Wilson describes life with wife Ramona Agruma and daughters Royce, 4, and Rose, 4 months, as a 'girl power household.'

Rebel Wilson Talks 'Girl Power Household' With Kids

Rebel Wilson says her home is a "girl power household," the actress told E! News exclusively at the world premiere of her new comedy Girl Group during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2026.

"It is definitely a girl power household," Wilson said. "It's all girls, all day, every day."

Wilson's Family

Wilson, 46, shares the home with her wife, fashion designer Ramona Agruma, and their two daughters, Royce Lillian Elizabeth, 4, and Rose Estelle, 4 months. Royce was born via surrogate in November 2022, while Rose arrived earlier this year.

Wilson is best known for starring in the Pitch Perfect film franchise. Girl Group marks a new chapter for her, since she wrote, directed and stars in the movie.

The Story Behind Girl Group

Girl Group follows a former pop diva who ends up coaching a band of misfit teenagers as part of her community service. Wilson said the film grew directly out of her own love of the girl group era.

"What inspired me to make Girl Group was just my love of girl groups," she said. "I was that teenage girl with a cassette tape and pumping Spice Girls the whole time. They were this group of women who were all unique. They were also bold. They got out there. They spoke their mind. They crushed it out in on the world stage."

The Spice Girls, the British pop group made up of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell, rose to global fame in the 1990s and remain one of the best-selling girl groups in music history.

Other Influences

Wilson said she also drew on the girl groups that followed the Spice Girls, calling several of them "sensational."

"From Destiny's Child, TLC, En Vogue to Fifth Harmony, Little Mix, BLACKPINK more recently, who just absolutely crush it," she said. "I wanted to create a movie that celebrates girl group music throughout the decades, and I think this is it."

Royce the 'Chatterbox'

Wilson said her oldest daughter shares the same boldness she admires in her musical idols. Royce's outspokenness is actually why Wilson ended up announcing the birth of her second child earlier than she had planned.

During a January appearance on Today, Wilson explained that Royce had been telling everyone she encountered about the impending arrival of a baby sister, long before Wilson was ready to share the news publicly.

"She just goes around saying everything to anybody, teachers at school, people in the grocery store," Wilson said. "She'll be like, 'I'm getting a baby sister,' and then people come up, random people, go, 'Oh, congratulations on the new baby.'"

Wilson said the constant run-ins with strangers who already knew her news pushed her to make an official announcement. "I thought, 'OK, I better put it out on social media,'" she said.

Welcoming Royce

Wilson became a mother for the first time in November 2022, when Royce was born via surrogate. At the time, she shared her joy on Instagram, writing that she could not describe the love she felt for her daughter and calling her "a beautiful miracle."

She thanked everyone involved in the process, including her surrogate, whom she credited with helping her start her own family. Nearly four years later, Wilson is now raising Royce and baby Rose alongside Agruma, a household she happily describes as full of girl power.
