Barcelona Sporting Club won an appeal on Friday, September 11, and had the suspension against head coach Pablo Trobbiani reduced, Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo reported.
Trobbiani, who is Argentine, was sent off during Barcelona's match against Independiente del Valle and was originally handed a three-match ban. After the appeal hearing, the punishment was cut to two matches.
As a result, Trobbiani will serve the final match of his suspension on Sunday, when Barcelona SC host Delfin SC at the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha for matchday 30 of the initial phase of the Liga Ecuabet, Ecuador's top football division.
Independiente del Valle, the club Barcelona were facing when Trobbiani received his red card, is based in Sangolqui, near the capital Quito, and is known for developing young players who have gone on to represent Ecuador's national team.

Trobbiani is a former Argentine international defender who played for Boca Juniors and was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1986 World Cup, coming on as a substitute in the final against West Germany. He has since worked as a coach in South American football.

The match against Delfin SC, a club from the Manabi province city of Manta, is described as Barcelona SC's last chance to secure a place in the hexagonal principal, the six-team group stage that follows the league's initial phase. If they fail to advance, Barcelona SC will instead be required to play in the Copa Sudamericana quadrangular, a stage of South American club football's second-tier continental competition.
